IT’S Simba Bhora’s game to lose, according to Eswatini’s Stanford Collymore Ncube and Zenzile Dolly Mpofu, who believe Joel Luphahla’s side have every advantage heading into Sunday’s Total Energies Caf Champions League preliminary round second leg at Somhlolo National Stadium.

Simba Bhora travel with a narrow 1-0 lead secured in Francistown, Botswana, and both analysts say the Zimbabwean champions possess the physical edge, mental resilience, and match fitness to close out the tie.

“Sunday’s match won’t be easy because the intensity will be high. Nsingizini Hotspurs will be out to prove a point because they have nothing to lose.

Conceding a 60th-minute goal away shows fatigue and focus lapses, probably from travelling by road.

Simba have been playing league matches consistently, while Nsingizini are still in pre-season despite the recent 8Bet Trade Fair Cup. Simba’s higher fitness and the fact they are Zimbabwe log leaders give them a clear chance,” said Mpofu, a Moneni Pirates performance analyst and double gold medallist from the Enjabulweni High School Academy.

When asked what she would change if she were coaching Nsingizini, Mpofu kept it simple. “Don’t overdo things. Don’t make silly mistakes. Focus. They need to make sure Simba doesn’t score because any goal doubles the task. Joel must manage the game, keep possession, and pounce on errors.”

She said that comparing the two countries’ leagues was tricky.
“Zimbabwe has more teams and more game time. Players there are used to aggression, speed, and intelligence. I wish the best to both sides and hope fans accept the result peacefully.”

Former Railstars, Mbabane Swallows, and Manzini Wanderers midfielder Collymore Ncube agrees Simba have put themselves in a strong position.

“Simba did what they had to do at home and can now finish the job. They are solid and cohesive, but they must be cautious. They face a new-look side with a new coach, which can be both a plus and a minus. Lack of cohesion could hurt Nsingizini, but new players might want to prove themselves. Joel is a good coach who earned his place through merit.”

However it unfolds, Sunday’s clash in Lobamba promises high drama.
