AS the league leaders, Shamva-based Simba Bhora, inch closer to securing their first-ever championship, their supporters in Bulawayo have taken the initiative to establish a new chapter of the team’s fan base.

The Simba Bhora Bulawayo Chapter was officially launched on Saturday night at a celebratory event attended by passionate fans from the city.

The launch was marked by speeches, entertainment, and a shared sense of excitement for the upcoming championship.
In an interview the coordinator of the event Blessed “Boltcutter” Chimuti said the Simba Bulawayo Chapter aims to rally fans in the city behind the team and create a vibrant atmosphere of support.

“With Simba Bhora poised to make history, the Bulawayo chapter’s launch couldn’t have come at a more exciting time. The team’s impressive performances throughout the season have captured the hearts of football enthusiasts across the country.

“The Bulawayo chapter’s establishment will not only strengthen the team’s support base but also foster a sense of unity and camaraderie among Simba Bhora fans in the region,” said Chimuti.

He said the newly formed chapter has already begun organizing various activities to drum up support for the team.
“These include organizing watch parties for Simba Bhora’s remaining matches, conducting community outreach programmes, and engaging in social media campaigns.

“The goal is to create a strong network of dedicated fans who will cheer on the team from the stands and online.
As Simba Bhora continues their quest for the PSL title, the Bulawayo chapter’s support will be invaluable. With a passionate and united fan base behind them, the team will be inspired to give their all on the field and bring glory to their supporters,” said Chimuti.
He said the Bulawayo Chapter also aims to foster a sense of unity and camaraderie among fans in the region.

“The chapter’s activities will not only support the team but also contribute to the local community through outreach programmes. The passionate support from the Bulawayo chapter will also provide a significant boost to Simba Bhora’s morale and performance as they strive for the championship,” said Chimuti.

The event was also attended by young entrepreneurs in Bulawayo, including the chief executive officer of Sentrail Investments, Dzikamai “DZ” Hungwe.

He advised the Chapter that while passion and enthusiasm are essential, it’s equally important to approach this initiative with a strategic mindset.

“Beyond organising watch parties and social media campaigns, there is a need to focus on building meaningful relationships within the Bulawayo community by partnering with local businesses, schools, and charities to create a wider impact and attract new supporters.

“There is also a need to establish a clear governance structure within the chapter to ensure effective decision-making and accountability. Appoint dedicated roles and responsibilities to streamline operations and avoid conflicts,” said Hungwe.
