Singer collaborates with Manyeruke

HARARE-BASED multilingual gospel singer, Isaac “Ikey” Nyoni, has collaborated with veteran gospel guru, Baba Manyeruke; in a song titled ‘‘Mwari Vakanaka’’.

The singer, who emerged on the music scene in 2016, is upbeat their collaboration withhold its own.

“I have engaged Baba Manyeruke to complement my music.

“Working with such gospel gurus helps us to be recognised and since my music career started, way back during school days, I was yet to see a breakthrough.

“The song Mwari Vakanaka, is praising God for his good deeds to us as human beings.

“And, this my huge step ahead of my new project,” he said.

Ikey started off playing traditional instruments such as Marimba and has two albums to his credit.

“In 2016, I recorded my first album Greater Is He Who Is In Me which became a hit with the song Kumalundu (To The Mountains) topping the Coca-Cola top 20 on National FM.

“It stayed on number three for five consecutive weeks.

“I then entered the studio again in 2018 and recorded second album Mabasa Makuru (Great Works) with the song Luyando lwa Leza (Gods Love) topping Classic 263 FM gospel chat show on number one for a record 10 consecutive weeks,” he added.

Since 2020, Ikey has been  releasing singles.

“I sing both to praise God and to encourage my fans and listeners to focus their attention on the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ and appreciating the love of God.

“Passion drove me to sing and I believe in preaching through music.”
