Singer Goodchild clinches double deal

ENDORSEMENT deals are a lifeline for musicians.

Among some of the local musicians, who have gotten endorsement deals, are Jah Prayzah, Madam Boss, Tocky Vibes, Baba Harare, Tammy Moyo, KVG, DJ Ollah 7.

Musician and television host, Alexio ‘Goodchild’ Gwenzi, has joined the list after he secured a brand ambassadorial deal with two top financial companies.

The ZIMURA board member was roped into Quest Financial Services as well as with World Remit as their ambassador.

“I have contributed a lot into the entertainment industry and I broke into the music scene as an urban grooves artist in 2003 with the hit Song ‘Iwe Fadzayi’.

“That placed me in the limelight and, since then, I have also had a stint at ZBC as a TV presenter for programme line-ups, Quiz Shows and Coke on the Beat, which I co-hosted with KVG, MisRed, Jefferson, Butterphly, Patience Musa etc.

“Through my songs, Taura Naye, (Mukadzi Wako Arikundifonera), Shuwa, featuring Shinso, Arikundinyepera and Faya Faya ft Ti Gonzi, Underrated ft Nutty O and Good To Me ft ExQ, among many other hit songs, I have made some impact.

“So, with this experience, I have also attracted some organisations to endorse me.”

Quest Financial Services, general manager, alternative banking unit, Doris Chakamanga confirmed working with Goodchild.

“In a bid to promote visibility and increase Worldremit footprints on the Zimbabwean market, Quest appointed Alexio ‘Goodchild’ Gwenzi as the World Remit Brand Ambassador with effect from April 1 this year.

“His role mainly encompasses the promotion of the World Remit brand and ensuring that the market is kept abreast of all developments regarding the global money transfer partner.

“Quest Financial Services is a microfinance company that gives out loans and also provides mobile money services such as Western Union, Access Forex, Mama Money and World Remit.

“Quest Financial Services is a leading financial services retailer in Zimbabwe with a diverse product portfolio that enables it to serve its customers.

“Quest is currently the official in-country representative (super-agent) of World Remit on the Zimbabwean market, with a mandate to on-board sub-agents who operate under its supervision.”

Goodchild is also a board member for Zimbabwe Music Rights Association (ZIMURA) as director of information and publicity.
