Police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Oliver Mandipaka yesterday could not reveal the administrative issue holding up the examination.
The skeletal remains were discovered at the Exhibition Park two weeks ago with the clothes Given Flint Matapure (3) was wearing when he disappeared.
In other countries it takes at least five days for pathological tests to be done. Chief Supt Mandipaka said they finished their job when they handed over the remains to doctors.

The police were now waiting for the DNA test results to determine the next step.
“We finished our job as police and we have forwarded the remains to pathologists and we are now waiting for the examination of the remains as there are administrative logistics which are being done,” he said.
“If the examination is done, it needs a lot of expertise and formalities.”
Pathologists have already received the remains, which were discovered by a Zimbabwe Agricultural Society worker in the Exhibition Park grou-nds where Given disappeared while attending the Harare Agricultural Show.
The clothes found at the scene were identified as the ones Given, who disappeared in August, was wearing when he was last seen.
The clothes included a belt, T-shirt, shoes and a pair of trousers.
Given’s parents and the police have been searching for him since he disappeared during the Harare Agricultural Show held at the Exhibition Park.
He was in the company of his sister and their maid when he went missing.
