adminBOTSWANA house-kwasa songstress Slizer (real name Naledi Kaisara) is expected to jet into the country on Friday ahead of a charity performance at Mucheke Stadium in Masvingo.The songstress, who recently hogged the limelight over her alleged affair with sungura musician Peter Moyo, is expected to share the stage with Sulumani Chimbetu and several dancehall artistes.
Organisers of the event, Zimbabwe Amalgamated Housing Association, said proceeds of the show would be directed to charity.
“We have a programme of charity homes across the country so this gig is meant to raise funds for the elderly and needy who can’t take care of themselves.
“The money will be used to build homes for these people,” said Zimbabwe Amalgamated Housing Association director, Killer Zivhu.
By yesterday, Slizer had not been cleared to perform in the country but Zivhu said they were working flat out on her clearance.
“We are still working on Slizer’s clearance to perform but I can assure you that she will definitely be travelling to Masvingo for this event.
“If she is not cleared, she will be there as a guest to offer moral support,” he said.
Slizer, who has in several interviews shown deep love for Zimbabwe and its people, including President Mugabe whom she described as her idol, urged people to attend the charity show.
“Zimbabweans have shown so much love and I feel indebted to reciprocate the love that they have given me. I urge people to attend the shows and enjoy a good blend of music,” she said.
This will not be her first time to perform in Masvingo as she once wowed fans at the Ritz Night Club last year when she performed at commemorations for the late Tongai Moyo.
Slizer shot to fame with her debut album O Tswa Kae in 2008 which reportedly sold over 30,000 copies and was followed by several hit songs that are doing well across the Sadc region. – Harare Bureau/Showbiz Reporter
