A GWERU-based traditional healer in a smash and grab a snooze you lose a fashion eloped with a clientas wife.
The 55-year-old Julius Moyoas a?Et tu, Brutus?a? moment came when Elizabeth Chuma (28) the wife of Farai Maroso (32) gave in to his charm.
Moyo, a sangoma with a decade of experience, had been treatingA the couple for two weeks attending to Chuma who had a never healing boil on her left thigh.
Initially, Moyo welcomed his clients with a promise that in a space of two weeks Chuma would be healed.
Later on, he asked her to stay at his house because her wound needed serious attention day and night.
Now dusting himself from losing his wife, Maroso narrated his ordeal to B-Metro.
a?I agreed to his proposal because I was desperate for the healing sinceA my wife was in pain and most people had told me that he is a very good sangoma,a? said Maroso.
After two weeks he realised that there was still no change and asked Moyo.
a?After two weeks there was still no change. I asked him why thereA was no improvement. He told me to be patient.
After a week he said he was going to take my wife to his rural home in Mberengwa as the environment there was very conducive for the wound to heal,a? he added.
Maroso could not accompany his wife and that was literally kissing her goodbye.
a?After a week I phoned him to find out about my wife but his phone went unanswered. I also tried to phone her and she didnat answer,a? said the dejected Maroso.
Like any worried husband a he wanted to follow up but his relatives told him to leave it or something bad could happen to him.
a?I was so angry and l wanted to go to Mberengwa and look for them but my family members told me it was not a wise idea because something bad could befall me. I have accepted it and will also move on with my life,a? heA said.
It has been six months and Maroso has no choice but to take care of their two children alone. .
