BIG bite!
A soldier bit a police officera��s finger as he fought to evade arrest for urinating in public.
A court on Monday heard Ogly Ngwenya (24) from Nkulumane suburb and his friend who was not named in court relieved themselves in front of police officers who were on standby near Rumrick Supermarket in Nkulumane.
When the cops reacted to arrest them, Ngwenya bit Stephen Mndrade, whose rank was not mentioned in court, on the finger to stop him from arresting his friend.
Ngwenya appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Lungile Ncube facing a single count of resisting arrest.
He pleaded guilty and was fined $200 (or 90 days in prison).
The magistrate warned Ngwenya against brushes with the law.
a�?The court will consider that you are a first offender and the fine is an opportunity for you to reform,a�? said Ncube.
Prosecuting, Petros Shoko told the court that on Monday at around 10pm Ngwenya restricted Mndrade from arresting his friend for urinating at a public place.
a�?Ngwenya pushed the police officer away, after being pushed the police officer handcuffed one of Ngwenyaa��s hands and was bitten in the process on the left thumb once.
Mndrade was then assisted by his colleagues to arrest Ngwenya and his friend,a�? said Shoko.
The court also heard that Mndrade went to United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) for medical examination. . .
