BRUTALLY attacking a patron following a misunderstanding over a game of pool saw a soldier being fined $200 or face three months imprisonment.
Kudzai Magwere, who is employed by the Zimbabwe National Army, was convicted on his own plea of guilty when he appeared before senior Mutare magistrate Mrs Sekai Chiundura last week. He was being accused of assaulting Clive Chipokore (23).
The court heard that on October 8, Magwere went to Machikichori Bar in Chikanga Phase Three where Chipokore was playing pool with his friends.
He demanded to play but was told to wait until the game was over. He refused and started arguing with Chipokore.
Magwere pushed Chipokore before striking him with a fist in the face. He proceeded to kick him and Chipokore fell.
