manager, and Dzingirai Badze (43) on Wednesday appeared before magistrate Mr Donald Ndirowei charged with murder.
They were remanded in custody to March 12. Prosecutor Ms Junior Mugebe alleges that on February 16 around 7pm, Austin Muzarurwi, who was a soldier attached to 3BB Parachute Regiment Inkomo, entered OK Supermarket along Julius Nyerere Way. He went to the liquor section where he stole two 375 mililitre bottles of caned spirit and hid them in his jacket unaware that he was being seen through a CCTV camera.

It is alleged Badze followed the now deceased Muzarurwi and arrested him  and took turns with Nyarota to assault him using a baton and unknown objects. He was later released to bring money for the beer and sat on the pavement next to the shop.
Muzarurwi was found dead the following day around 5am by a passer-by, Tendai Mhiripiri, who reported the case to the police. Post mortem said death was due to assault.
