Soldier nabbed for theft

A soldier decided to use her military training to a�?ambusha�? clothes from a retail shop.

Michelle Chitekuteku (29), whose rank and station is unknown, stole a pair of ladies print viscose slacks, an infanta��s party dress and a knit top at Meikles Stores and stuffed them in her satchel.

Her luck ran out when an alert security guard intercepted her on her way out. The security guard then requested to search her bag leading to the recovery of the stolen items valued at $78.

She was arrested and brought before Bulawayo magistrate Tinashe Tashaya charged with theft.

Chitekuteku did not however, waste the courta��s time when she quickly pleaded guilty. She was convicted and sentenced to pay a fine of $100. In default of payment Chitekuteku would spend 60 days in prison.

The court proved that on 10 February Chitekuteku went to Meikles Stores situated at Corner Leopold Takawira and Jason Moyo.

It is reported that while inside she took a pair of ladies print viscose slacks, an infanta��s party dress and knit top and put them in her satchel.

The court heard that when she was at the exit point a security guard stopped her and requested to search her satchel.

While searching, the security guard reportedly stumbled upon the stolen items leading to her arrest.
