Son calls mum witch

A Harare woman has told the court that her son calls her a witch and has been threatening to kill her.

Marbel Macheka convinced magistrate Tamara Chibindi that her son, Ranganai Franscisco, physically and emotionally abuses her.

Magistrate Chibindi granted the protection order against Ranganai in default, as he was not in court to defend himself.

“He is my son, but he insults me calling me a witch. He even goes to the extent of abusing me physically and threatening to kill me with an axe,” she said.

Marbel told the court that she is now living in fear.

“I no longer feel safe because of his behaviour. That is why I am here so that the law can protect me,” said Marbel.
