HARDLY a month after he staged a sold-out show, gifted chanter and Zim dancehall hottest property Soul Jah Love will meet his legion of local fans again tomorrow (Saturday) at Pick and Save Supperrette.
This time he will be backed by another rising dancehall musician, Kinnah, and novice Stamy Dee in a potentially thrilling show.
Soul Jah Love, whose real name is Soul Musaka, is favourite among youths and no doubt the venue will be packed to the full, come Saturday.
Ndini uya uya, Simudza musoro are some of Soul Jah’s hit songs.
The show will also be a grand opportunity for all local artistes to showcase their talent during the night.
“All Mutare artistes who wish to be part of the show should register at Pick and Save on Saturday morning. We always put local musicians on the forefront. This is their opportunity to shine,” they said in a statement.
Local fans will be in for a blissful dancehall treat from the trio after last weekend’s sungura delight with Extra Kwazvose and Assegai Crew.
The group, led by the invincible quartet of lead vocalist Francis “Slomo” Dhaka, drummer Obert Gomba, chanter and dancer Jonasi Kasamba and lead guitarist Noel Nyazanda, shocked a sizeable group of Mutare fans who attended the show with curiosity.
They put up top drawer performances particularly on instrumentation. Despite notable flaws on vocals, the group seems to be gaining ground on the local music terrain since its formation two years ago.
They belted out a blend of new and old songs from their two albums Ndizvo Zviripo and Zvepasirino such as Nyama yenhoro, Kupindana kwemazuva, Farai nekwazvose, Africa, Amen, Ajulius and Gurajena. In a sideline interview, Slomo appealed for support from fans and promoters.
“We need support. Music industry is not easy, but we are doing our best,” he said.
