Soul Jah Love to open Diamond Lounge doors

Entertainment Correspondent
THE wait is over.
After many months of speculation, former uptown nightclub, Gullivers, tomorrow (Saturday) opens its doors under a new name, Diamond Lounge.
To open the club will be dancehall prodigy and probably one of the most-sought-after Zim dancehall artistes at the moment, Soul Musaka, popularly known as Soul Jah Love of the ‘hauiti hauiti’ signature tune.

The Zim Dancehall award-winning artiste who rose to fame with his Simudza Musoro chartbuster will no doubt be the best man to give Diamond Lounge a befitting opening.

Soul Jah Love, among many other rising dancehall sensations in the country’s current dancehall frenzy, has become a household name.
Despite being a controversial figure always hitting media headlines for various mischievous and divisive issues, his talent on the mic is undisputed.

With his signature tune hauiti hauiti and ability to change notes in his songs, Mutare is bound to have a magical night.
Diamond Lounge spokesperson, Jordan Chakonda, said all was in place and Soul Jah Love had confirmed the show.

He, however, said the ‘big’ official opening of Diamond Lounge was yet to come.
“This is just a teaser to let people know Diamond Lounge is now in town, but this is not the official opening.

“We will do the official launch of Diamond Lounge at the end of November, which I promise will be fireworks.
“We aim to turn Diamond Lounge into Mutare’s entertainment hub,” said Chakonda.

Soul Jah Love’s manager, Tawanda ‘Kaya’ Muyambiri, said dancehall fans should anticipate fireworks.
He said Soul Jah Love has some new songs he will be playing for the first time in Mutare.

On the other hand every Sunday Diamond Lounge will host the Big Brother Africa Hotshots eviction party where there will be various competitions to be won.

The platform will also be used to support and rally behind team Zimbabwe in the reality show.
Gullivers Club, which was one of the popular uptown night clubs in the city, closed operations early this year due to rental wrangles between the property owners, Jairos Jiri Pvt (Ltd) and Hlanganiso Matangaidze the proprietor of Gullivers Night Club.

Diamond Club is opening under new management.
