THE South African Airways will, from next month, increase the frequency of its flights between Harare and Johannesburg in response to rising demand for this route.
In a statement, the airline noted that the decision aims to accommodate the growing number of travellers seeking reliable connections between the two cities.
“South African Airways (SAA) is pleased to announce that it has increased the number of flights between Harare and Johannesburg from 10 to 12 frequencies per week, with effect from 5 November 2024, to cater for the growing demand. SAA customers will have the option of two additional flights from Harare to Johannesburg,” reads the statement.
From Mondays to Fridays, an SAA flight will depart Harare at 7:20am and arrive in Johannesburg at 9 am. From South Africa a flight will depart Johannesburg at 12.25pm and land in Harare at 2:05 pm daily.
Another flight will leave Johannesburg at 10 am and arrive in Harare at 11.35am daily.
From Sundays to Thursdays a flight will carry passengers at night 20:10pm from Johannesburg and arrive in Harare at 21:45pm.
“The increased frequency is part of SAA’s densification strategy to meet customer demand in the African region, an important area for SAA’s growth strategy.
“The increased demand is driven mainly by Zimbabwean expatriates, tourism and increased trade between the two countries”.
