Looking at the Unseen
EXODUS 14:13-16
And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. [14] The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. [15] And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward: [16] But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.
Moses was born a prophet. He was born equipped for the job. He was born to deliver Israel from bondage and bring them to a land God had promised to Abraham.
He had the backing of the Scripture.
No doubt, his mother had taught him from a baby, that he was born to deliver Israel. She taught him that at the time he was born, Pharaoh was killing all the boy children, and he survived.
He had been put in a basket of reeds and left in the Nile River, but crocodiles did not eat him. The waters of the Nile did not drown him. Pharaoh’s sword did not touch him.
He had seen miracle after miracle that God performed before Pharaoh.
He had seen his stick becoming a serpent. He had seen his serpent swallowing the serpents of Jannes and Jambres. He knew Goi was with him and had vindicated him.
Yet with all that experience, at the Red Sea, he cried to God.
He saw the army of Egypt behind them. He saw the Red Sea before them. He saw mountains on either side. He and his people were cornered.
It looks like God was a poor commander. Looks like God was a poor army general who brought his people to a fix, where they were to be sitting ducks in the face of the raging army of Egypt.
But God had a plan.
He likes to put His children in a corner to show His power. He wanted the problem behind them to be swallowed by the problem before them. Just wait and see the salvation of God.
It looked noble that Moses cried to God in the time of trouble. But God did not like it. Moses was a cry-baby.
God had called Moses. God had equipped Moses. God had given His Word to Moses. It was up to Moses to do with It as he wanted. It was up to Moses to use his position and settle the issue with Pharaoh and the Red Sea. God had delegated His power.
When Moses cried, God asked him: “Why do you cry unto me? Why do you want me to act on your behalf when I have given you the power?
Just speak and go forward. Speak what you want to be done to the Egyptians and move to your objective”
It is just nature for a person to cry out. And then what rebuke it is for God to turn around and rebuke him for saying it, for crying out to Him.
There was a need; it was just up to him to speak the outcome he wanted. God wanted Moses to put that gift of faith, that He had given him, to work. God had vindicated it.
God wanted the people, to see that He was with Moses. God wanted Moses to have faith, God had clearly proved to Moses and the people that it was Him, by the Word and by the things that was said come to pass. It was clearly identified. There was no need of him worrying anymore about it. It was already cleared up. He had already done these things. And he had already proved, by flies and fleas, that he spoke things into creation, that the Word of God was in him.
When any little thing comes up, why do you act like a baby? You ought to be a man and woman. Just speak your desire then move forward! Amen! Don’t cry. Speak!
God told Moses to stop crying, but speak to the people and go forward.
What a lesson. Moses had already said to Israel: “These Egyptians you are seeing, you shall never see them again.”
He was supposed to tell Israel to move on after speaking those words. He had already prophesied the fate of Egyptians. He was supposed to rally his people to believe and wait for the salvation of God,
When you are faced with a problem, speak the outcome and act according to your words. If you have a goal, speak it and walk towards it. Whatever it is, speak it.
