to next month at a meeting held at Eveline High school.
Nash chairman Pilate Tshuma confirmed the development saying “We were supposed to have the inter-zonal cross country competitions but after we had a meeting at Eveline as Nash we decided to move the competitions to 15 March.”
The competitions will now take place on the same weekend as the inter-zonal track and field events set for Nust from 14 to 16 March and Ihlathi High School remains the venue for the competitions.
The inter-provincial cross-country competitions have also been moved from Gwanda to Plumtree High School where they will take place simultaneously with the track and field events from 5-6 April.
Initially they were supposed to take place this month on 17 February in Gwanda but to cut costs, Nash decided hold the inter-zonal and inter-provincial competitions on the same day and centres.
“Matabeleland South are the hosts for this year’s edition of the inter-provincials and we had picked Gwanda as our venue for the cross-country competition but we reversed our decision following complaints from school authorities who felt it would be expensive to compete in Gwanda and then move to Plumtree,” he said.
“The athletes will now travel to Plumtree for both cross-country and track and field events,” said Tshuma.
