THE much-awaited Bulawayo Amateur Football Association (Bafa) Townshend and Butcher cup final match between Golden Hotspurs and Madamara is on at Mzilikazi High School tomorrow.Madamara team manager Target Maposa said last year’s runners up Golden Hotspurs will not have it easy.
“We’ll get into the final encounter with everything we have, we’re looking for a win and have been preparing very hard for this game,” said Maposa.
Madamara who recently joined the Bafa league go into the encounter as underdogs, but will be no pushovers after a ruthless 3-1 semi-final victory over Rebels, the former Townshend and Butcher champions.
Golden Hotspurs on the other hand missed the opportunity of taking the cup home last year and have to be at their best to win tomorrow’s encounter.
In the two teams’ last league match Golden Hotspurs edged Madamara 2-1 and will be hoping to unleash the same fate to their Mzilikazi neighbours tomorrow.
Clifford Magwanyagwanya, Golden Hotspurs team manager, said his team is better experienced and could not wait to do a double over Madamara tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Safeguard FC will face Rebels in the third play off just before the final match is played.
Bafa vice-chairman Charles Chunda urged the teams to continue with fair play and discipline. “Teams should continue showing discipline as they have been doing in the earlier stages of the tournament,” he said.
