IN a bid to spread the game of squash, seasoned coaches and administrators Nishysto Munyoro and Tatenda Mutimutema have successfully launched an academy at Nomads Squash Club in Harare.

The academy launch on Saturday was attended by Squash Racket Association of Zimbabwe representatives and Africa Squash President Dr Lucky Mlilo.

“We are happy to launch the NM Squash PROS Academy, an exciting new initiative that will give children the chance to experience squash for the very first time,” said Munyoro.

“The academy is built on a simple, but powerful idea: every child deserves the chance to play, learn, and grow through sport. I believe most of the children who will join us after this launch will be stepping onto a squash court for the very first time, and I hope to open the doors to new possibilities, friendships, and opportunities.”

The initiative is aimed at seeing squash not just as a sport but as a profession.

“We want squash to be more than just a sport — it’s about building confidence, discipline, and joy in our young people, our hope is to create a welcoming space where children from all walks of life feel included and inspired.”

The launch event brought together children, families and supporters.
