THE 2026 edition of the two-day St George’s College Under-20 Soccer Tournament explodes into life this morning at one of Zimbabwe’s top schools.

A record number of schools will take part in the tourney, which is being sponsored by Hammer and Tongues.It is set to attract some of the country’s top coaches, and academy coaches, searching for the best of the emerging generation of teenage footballers.

St Ignatius College Jesuit School from Zambia will also take part in the tournament.

Tournament sponsors, Hammer and Tongues, have a branch in Zambia.

Prince Edward edged St John’s 1-0 in the final last year.

The sponsors of the tournament, through AfricaBet, are also sponsoring the country’s biggest and most successful football club, Dynamos.

Their financial injection has stabilised the Glamour Boys and helped them to be competitive in the championship race again this season.

St Ignatius Zambia, St Ignatius Zimbabwe, Westridge High, Watershed College, Gokomere Mission.
