ST PAUL’S MUSAMI HIGH SECURES A NEW BUS

IN June last year, there was a pivotal moment at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) at St Paul’s Musami High School when Father Alex Dakamire passionately presented the need for a new school bus.

The school headmaster, Mr Maxwell Takawira, said the majority of parents were won over by the father’s eloquent argument, and the journey to secure the bus began in earnest.

With encouragement from the DSI, Mrs Tsodzo, and guidance from Mrs Willo, a team was formed to kick-start the project.

Fr. Dakamire led the charge, accompanied by Ms. Muzadzi, Mr. Nyawasha and Takawira.

Together, they visited major vehicle dealers in Harare, showcasing their dedication and communal spirit.

Although their initial efforts did not yield the desired results, the team’s enthusiasm remained unwavering.

“Today we welcome Asiastar to St Paul’s Musami High School. For some time, we are going to have the best school bus, certainly in Murehwa district, and many areas around us. Local staff and learners are going to be the principal beneficiaries,” said Mr Takawira.

“However, the local schools, the church and, indeed, the whole district will be positively impacted on. I am happy that one of our local Heads, Mr Zihwi, has already envisioned this.

“This new school bus must raise the bar for us, in many areas of endeavour. Let there be congruence between what we do and the standard the new bus has set.

“Here, our clerical staff, Miss Mabvepi and Ms Mangirazi, worked tirelessly to ensure that nothing went wrong. I particularly remember the massive document called the Standard Bid Document.

“The language was technical but it had to be filled in with precision.”

The Provincial Education Director (PED) of Mashonaland East, Anatoria Ncube, who was the guest of honour, said the acquisition of a new school bus marks a significant milestone in the institution’s commitment to providing a safe and connected learning environment.

“Equipped with the latest safety features, this state-of-the-art vehicle prioritises the well-being of our learners on every journey.

“In this age of rapid technological advancement and ever-changing educational needs, this new bus is equipped with the latest safety features, ensuring our learners’ well-being on every journey.

“From WIFI to state-of-the-art communication systems, we are prioritising safety and connectivity.

“This is more than just a mode of transportation. It represents the promise of opportunity for our students – the promise that no child will be left behind, it symbolises our commitment to provide safe, reliable and efficient transportation for our learners.

“Every journey, this bus will not only carry our learners to and from, but will also create lifelong memories,” she said.

Fr. Dakamire said the team’s perseverance and collaboration ultimately paved the way for a successful outcome.

“Our bus has embolded us to the fact that with a clear vision, there are unlimited possibilities. Let us enjoy the ride as we build formidable foundations for a bright future for each one of us.”
