THE High Profile Legal Excellence Awards will take place on December 20 at the Rainbow Towers Hotel, marking a significant date in Zimbabwe’s legal calendar.
The event aims to recognise individuals and organisations whose work has made a notable impact on the country’s legal landscape.
Far from focusing solely on legal practitioners, the awards will honour doctors, businesses and other professionals who have demonstrated sustained commitment to the rule of law and the principles of justice.
“We are celebrating the unsung heroes of the legal system,” said Christopher Samkange, Director of All National Excellence Enterprise, which is organising the event.
“Our aim is to acknowledge those who work tirelessly to ensure Zimbabwe remains a safe and just society.”
Awards will be presented across several categories, including Legal Professional of the Year, Doctor Supporting the Legal System, and Business Partnering with the Legal Community.
Medical practitioners who have maintained exemplary ethical and professional standards throughout their careers, with no record of misconduct, will be recognised.
Companies with a demonstrable history of legal compliance, integrity and ethical practice will also be honoured.
“We are looking for doctors who have consistently upheld the highest standards of medical ethics and professionalism,” Samkange said.
“We are also acknowledging businesses that operate responsibly and within the law, contributing to economic development.”
Banks, telecommunications operators such as Econet, long-standing corporate institutions and microfinance firms are among those expected to feature, particularly those with a strong record of legal compliance and ethical conduct.
The organisers promise an evening of “glamour and sophistication”, featuring a formal dinner and high-profile performances. Samkange urged the business community, medical professionals and the public to submit nominations for individuals or organisations that have made a significant contribution to the legal sector.
“This is an opportunity to recognise those who have gone above and beyond in promoting justice and upholding the law,” he said.
Nominations are open to the public. Forms are available from All National Excellence Enterprise or via the organisation’s website.
Positioned as a pre-Christmas celebration for the legal fraternity, the High Profile Legal Excellence Awards is expected to be a standout event on Zimbabwe’s social and professional calendar.
