THE country’s first commercial radio station, Star FM continues with its expansion drive and will today see its broadcast signal reach Tsholotsho.
Over the past year, the sizzling radio station has managed to spread its wings and its broadcast signal now reaches the Midlands, Masvingo, Manicaland, Mashonaland West, Matabeleland North and South provinces.

In an interview, Star FM General Manager, Admire Taderera said their expansion drive was continuing to all parts of the country.
“Our expansion drive is not slowing down we are going on with it and tomorrow we will be commissioning a transmitter in Tsholotsho.

The people of Tsholotsho also need to be heard on radio and the developments that happen around them so that they can also participate in the debates that take place on the station,” said Taderera.

The veteran broadcaster said the transmitter would be in Sipepa area.
Taderera said the state of the art transmitter in Bulawayo covered areas within a 100km radius of the City of Kings.

The talk radio station has transmitters in Mutare, Masvingo, Harare, Bulawayo, Beitbridge, Victoria Falls and Mutorashanga.
All the border towns which have for the past three decades failed to get transmission from the country’s radio stations have access to Star FM.

Taderera said as part of the station’s expansion roll out plan they would be soon streaming on the internet.
“As a station we have our expansion roll out plan and very soon we would be steaming live on the internet in line with the global changes and our personnel is already undergoing training,” said Taderera.
