Star FM rekindles radio listening

However, since the launch of Zimpapers Talk Radio’s, Star FM, most people are religiously tuning in to the station starting from the daily breakfast shows hosted by the charismatic Comfort Mbofana to the drive shows hosted by the flamboyant Tich Mataz as well as no-holds-barred interviews with Admire Taderera.
Despite the bleeps and blunders from some of the younger presenters, who keep reminding listeners of Power FM, there has been a growing interest in Star FM’s programming.
This includes the news bulletins and interviews with various personalities among them musicians, models, sports personalities, politicians, business executives as well as fine artists.
A survey by The Herald Entertainment revealed that more and more people were listening to the station.
“The station is loud and clear with exciting daily programmes that keep us logged in,” one listener said.
“It is like living life in the fast lane because time flies when you are having so much fun and this is the feeling we get when we listen to Star FM,” Kumbirai said.
Another listener confirmed that Star FM was on its way to becoming the people’s favourite radio station because it has opened doors to those who would otherwise have not had the opportunity to be heard on the airwaves.
“I think much of what we are hearing on the station is quality. The producers and presenters know exactly what makes their listeners tick and there hasn’t been any station which is as people friendly as Star FM.
“Already they are giving popular club DJs a chance to do what they know best on radio. I have had an opportunity to listen to DJs like Storm, Templeman and Dee Vine doing their thing on the airwaves.
“The other thing is that Star FM presenters are up to date with what’s happening because they are using social networks like Twitter and Facebook. This means that they engage the listener and that is commendable,” he said. 
Tafara Makoni said while radio was not so much about personalities, Star FM gives you more.
