Harare International Festival of the Arts media partner Star FM is bracing for another eventful festival at this year’s edition of the arts fete.

Hifa roars to life on April 28 to May 3 and Star FM is the official radio partner.

In an interview, Star FM public relations and communications manager Beatrice Tonhodzayi-Ngondo said they were using the opportunity to promote little known artistes.

“This is the third time that we are running as Hifa’s media partner and we are excited about it.

“As the fastest growing station we are committed to developing the arts and creating synergies. This is yet another opportunity to do just that,” she said

Tonhodzayi-Ngondo said they were going to give a voice to performing and the various creative artistes that are usually side-lined when art is publicised.

“In the next few days, we are going to be presenting many programmes about Hifa.

“We will have our Star FM stand there and artistes are invited to use the opportunity to reach out to our wide audience,” she said.

The communications and public relations manager said the move was in line with the station’s 2015 theme: “Taking Radio to the People”.

She said various programmes like “The Breeze” would be broadcast live from Hifa, where people would interact with their favourite presenters.

This also comes at a time when Star FM has conducted successful live broadcasts from Bulawayo, Gweru, Kwekwe, Mutare and various suburbs around Harare.

“We are looking forward to the presence of Salif Keita and also to interviews with our very own artistes.

“The Breeze will broadcast their various programs like, Musha Mukadzi and Lets do Brunch.

“It is also an opportunity to be up close with their favourite radio personalities,” she said.

“We will live stream to our diverse audience, we are inviting our supporters and the business community to market themselves.”

Meanwhile, all is set for the arts fete that is running under the theme “Articulate”.

Afro-pop singer-songwriter Salif Keita from Mali will be the main act, closing down the festival together with Hope Masike.

Equally talented musicians, Mokoomba are scheduled to open the event.
