‘Stick with Mourinho’

LONDON. — Sven-Goran Eriksson says Roman Abramovich must be braver than he has ever been and stick with Jose Mourinho. Abramovich has got through seven permanent managers and two interim bosses in the 12 years since Eriksson advised the Russian billionaire to buy Chelsea if he wanted quick success.

Mourinho left the club before, in 2007, after his relationship with Abramovich broke down and now he’s seen as on the verge again because of champions Chelsea’s terrible start to the season.

Abramovich is using the international break to take stock but Eriksson — speaking exclusively to Mirror Sport from China where he now manages the Shanghai SIPG club — has urged the Stamford Bridge oligarch to continue to back Mourinho, not sack him. — The Mirror.
