STOLEN FIT, FOOLISH FLIGHT! Car thief busted after high-speed chase and crash

A YOUNG man’s joyride in a stolen Honda Fit turned into a full-blown action flick when he tried to outrun the law — but ended up in cuffs instead!

Ronald Notice (20) thought he could outsmart the cops, but fate had other plans on 10 April 2025, when police in Saruwe arrested him for allegedly stealing a Honda Fit (Reg: AEY 7183) in Chegutu.

According to a police report on X, the drama began when Notice approached a police checkpoint at the 74-kilometre peg along the Harare-Bulawayo Road — and suddenly pulled a U-turn in a failed bid to dodge the law.

But cops were ready for the move, launching into a high-speed chase that ended with a bang — literally — when Notice collided with a private security vehicle.

In a last-ditch effort to escape justice, the suspect ditched the damaged Honda Fit and bolted on foot toward Saruwe River, but officers hot on his heels quickly apprehended him.

Now, Notice is facing serious charges as authorities wrap up investigations into the brazen theft and dangerous chase.
