Five classroom blocks were affected by hailstorm at St Hugh’s Ushewekunze Primary in Dema on Tuesday evening.

The school’s headmaster Ephraim Mudzudzu said although there was destruction, there were no casualties.

He said they were now trying to map a way forward after the damage.

“This happened yesterday evening at around 11 pm. We are glad nobody was around then,” he said.

“As it stands, we are currently looking at quotations so that we can buy material to repair the damage.”

The school has since resorted to hot-seating to accommodate students whose classrooms were affected.
