WORLD history is punctuated by epic political and war strategies, from ‘Tshaka Zulu’s cow horn formation’ era to the World War 1 ‘Schlieffen plan’, but the CCC’s no structure approach is certainly bizarre to say the least.
Nelson Chamisa has been making headlines since the 2018 harmonised elections, claiming electoral fraud and has been running on the narrative despite failing to argue the case during a trial that was broadcast live on ZBC. One would think perhaps it was just the denial phase which would soon fizzle away. Little did anyone think this could degenerate into some cult dubbed Chamisa Chete Chete.
The Chamisa Chete Chete movement was to stick and a demi god was born for opposition politics in Zimbabwe. He is literally the Alpha and Omega, the centre of power and the constitution of CCC.
Could this be the redefinition of democracy?
Certainly not, less than 12 months to the 2023 harmonised elections and there is no structure and constitution at that party; the handlers of the project had to say something. This boy has certainly gone nuts, they pondered from their European bases.
They had to seek the services of yet another puppet to communicate their position with regards the CCC project. Perhaps the puppet unwittingly exposed his handlers’ stunt, no one knows but what is apparent is that the West really wants Chamisa to establish structures and a constitution for the CCC if they are to fund this political experiment.
Professor of World Politics, Stephen Chan, just as in the title for his studies, was to be the most suitable announcer of the West’s wishes so that when Chamisa moves, it would appear as purely academic informed advice.
Along the way to make his announcement, Prof Chan had to make sure he even soils the image of Prof Jonathan Moyo for his relentless onslaught on Chamisa for failing to address the issue of structures and the constitution. The war of professors lets save it for another day.
Prof Chan said, “I understand Jonathan Moyo did indeed seek to join the CCC. Thankfully that fell through as his record is hardly one of loyalty. But he has made astute comments on the need for party structures. Certainly the West needs to know who is in the front bench.”
The utterances by Prof Chan were to be a multi-pronged political arsenal – confirming that Prof Moyo had made overtures to join the CCC and that Chamisa is a puppet of the West.
Prof Moyo was to hit back celebrating his vindication that indeed CCC was a Western project. This, however, is somewhat crushing the glimpse of the obvious. To those who watch closely and follow the politics of the land, MDC or CCC has always looked out for the interests of the displaced white farmers and their home governments.
On the other hand, Prof Chan confirmed a lot of theories which many thought were a making of ZANU PF. Firstly, the alleged abduction of Dr Peter Magombeyi and that of Cecilia Chimbiri and Joana Mamombe which were all punctuated by the mentioning of the US embassy and the timeous comments from the EU delegation in Zimbabwe.
The US embassy in Zimbabwe is certainly the biggest in Africa metaphorically representing the bigger interests of that country in the affairs of Zimbabwe. The US embassy if anything is fast evolving into a pressure group dissenting from its diplomatic mission mandate. Perhaps Government will take a cue from this article and read the riot act to these Western embassies. The meddling has just reached another notch.
Ultimately, Zimbabweans cannot wait and watch as Chamisa implements the commands of his Western handlers. Local political analysts and commentators failed to persuade him to establish structures and a constitution, but from now onwards we are going to be having a lot of press conferences and flash news with regards to the subject matter.
The Chan revelations have just indicated further that CCC can never represent the interests of Zimbabweans. No wonder they celebrate the misery of economic exigencies on the ordinary people. We don’t wonder why they say the Ian Douglas Smith regime was better compared to the ZANU PF Government. Our brothers are bargaining for the neighbour, we can never find each other when there are such ideological disparities.
