AFTER completing their best campaign in the domestic Premiership, Herentals are now set to reward the men who powered their adventure this season.
The Students finished ninth but were on course, towards the end of the season, to even end the campaign in the top four.
They beat champions FC Platinum twice – once in the league in Harare and in the semi-finals of the Chibuku Super Cup at Mandava.
However, the Students were beaten 0-1 in the final by Bulawayo Chiefs.
But, given that not many had given them the chance to go all the way to the final, the Harare club said it was an achievement for them to get a chance to win silverware.
Tino Benza ended up making it onto the Soccer Stars of the Year calendar and won the People’s Choice award for the best player during the last campaign.
He played 32 games in the league campaign.
“I think Tino (Benza) has been the ace in my team. But, I should point out that each and every one of my players has done so well,” Mutiwekuziva told The Herald.
“I brought John Zhuwawo, Ali Maliselo, Prosper Chigumba and others to bring in some experience which was lacking in my team.
“I fused with the determination that I had in the team and here we are. I am grateful the team has managed to do so well in both the league and the Chibuku Super Cup where we have reached the final for the first time in our short history.”
