Dendera kingpin, Sulumani “Sulu” Chimbetu has promised fans in Bulawayo a memorable show tonight when he performs at the Private Lounge Conference Room. The show is meant to celebrate Private Lounge’s Sanganai/Hlanganani tourism fair award after the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority and its buyers recently endorsed the lounge as one of the best entertainment joints in the country.
Sulu together with the Orchestra Dendera Kings who last performed in Bulawayo at the beginning of the year, said he would play some of the songs from his yet-to-be-named forthcoming album due for release in September.
“We’ll be unveiling some songs from the new album to fans in Bulawayo for the first time. Some of the songs which are already popular at our shows are It’s Not Necessary, Ndiani Arasa Mwana and Moses Rova Gungwa Netsvimbo.
“All these will be sampled at the Bulawayo show,” Sulu’s publicist, Joe Local Nyamungoma said. To add to that, fans will be afforded an opportunity to request songs they want to hear as Sulu wants the show to be intimate.
The much-awaited album will be a follow up to Sulu’s Gunship which was released two years ago. It carried the hit, Nyuchi which featured Souljah Love. The artiste’s delay in releasing an album has seen his following dwindle, something he hopes to improve during tonight’s show.
Nyamungoma said they were excited to be performing at the new nightspot which has taken the city by storm. “Sulu is excited to be performing at Private Lounge and to be celebrating their recent achievement (Sanganai/Hlanganani.
