Dendera ace Suluman Chimbetu will tonight serenade fans at Book Café in a gig which he said is meant to arouse spirits of love on Valentine’s Day eve.
Speaking through his spokesperson Joe Nyamungoma, Sulu said he feels pushed to honour all music lovers without despite of genres they follow.
He said people should be ready to get into Valentine’s Day mood.
“We are promising fireworks on Friday because we felt to honour all the people. We are not looking at which music genre do you belong since love is for everyone.
“The purpose of the gig is to arouse the loving spirits among families and affairs,” said Nyamungoma.
Nyamungoma said the guys will be up for the task especially the choreography on their acrobatic and spectacular ‘muso-musoro’ and ‘coco nut’ dances.
He said songs on the schedule for the promised electric night are purely love conveying gems among them “Rukato”, “Rudo ibofu”, “Spare wheel” and “Dzandipedza mafuta” one of the songs that stirred the entertainment atmosphere in the late 90s.
Tomorrow lovers in Budiriro are set to be get a memorable time as two musicians Josphat Somanje and Sulu share the stage at New Life Night Club.
The two have been riding high with their new albums.
Somanje who released a new album “Humbowo” said he was looking forward to the show.
“I have not been performing in Harare for some time now and for me this show is very important as we will be playing our new songs for the first time,” said Somanje.
He said he will do his best at the show to prove to music lovers that he is still in the game.
“I was involved in a serious car accident that left my instruments destroyed but I still soldier on. At this show people will see how God keeps me strong,” he said.
Nyamungoma said they are happy to work with Somanje.
“Pengaudzoke is one of the celebrated sungura groups that people cannot just forget. So we decided to perform with them at some of our shows,” he said.
Nyamungoma said this will be one of their best shows as they are geared up to entertain people who will be celebrating love.
“Even Sulu will be celebrating love with his family and that night will be a memorable one,” said Nyamungoma.
He said they will have a special play list of both Sulu and his father Simon’s love songs.
Show promoter Fidelis Ngove said it was an honour for him to host such an event on an important day like Valentine’s Day.
“Everyone wants to be loved and people need to celebrate that through dance and music,” he said.
He said they have prepared the venue well for the show.
“Patrons need to be respected and we have done our ground to make sure they celebrate in style,” said Ngove.
