Summer Breeze comes to Avenues

Summer Breeze jazz group makes their return to the main stage tomorrow when they stage a performance at Cheers Liquid Lounge in the capital. The group, founded back in the 1970s consists of veteran musicians Moses Kabuba, Farai Sumaili, Graciano Kapfunde. It has been keeping low profile and has been performing in locations for long.

They recently gave a spellbound performance in Mufakose leaving fans asking for more.

Whenever they stage a show they prove their skills which earn them endless ovations from the audience and their yesteryear hits are enough to send fans on the dancing floor.

Venue events manager Pitchu said they were looking to a great show with the group that is talented.

“That will be a good show and our patrons will enjoy the show as they will also have goat meat,” he said.

He said they will be supported by several DJs.

As you can see this place is in the Avenues area and there was need for us to provide something cool. We had musicians Jean Masters and Jabavu Drive performing and the response was good,” he said.

He said they were planning to introduce mbira nights so that they give their patrons a variety.

“Though we are more into jazz we are planning to have at least a day per week with mbira groups so that patrons get something different,” he said.

Musicians Diana Samkange, Tanga Wekwa Sando and Bob Nyabinde are some of the artistes lined up to perform at the venue.
