SUNDAY BUZZ: This week’s juicy celeb and showbiz gossip

We thought that beefing was only for Zim dancehall artistes and the likes of Stunner and Mudiwa, but since this is the year of learning, gore rezvidzidzo, umnyaka wezifundo – we have now learnt that “men of God” also beef.

Last week, an internationally known pastor announced on social media that there are two preachers who are claiming to be associated with his ministry in order to increase their visibility in the international Christian community.

One of the mentioned pastors felt that he had been sucker punched and also took to social media, denouncing these claims as lies.

One wonders why men of God should be beefing, especially on social media.

While most if not all artistes are still mourning the closure of Book Café, we are baffled to learn that this “spent force” comedian who is known for his wayward behaviour that is motivated by the bottle is in a celebratory mood.

The comedian is describing the closure of the uptown joint as poetic justice.

He had been banned from performing or entering the venue after being involved in a string of physical fights with various revellers (fans and fellow artistes included) at the joint. The final blow came when he sexually assaulted his rival’s wife, leading to an embarrassing altercation.

Sunday Buzz is told the battle of egos between Peter Moyo and Tryson Chimbetu is far from being over.

The two exchanged unpleasant words during their shared gig in the capital last week after Peter suggested that Tryson warm the stage for him.

The dendera musician who also has a bloated ego did not take it lightly and refused to warm the stage, vowing that he would rather not fulfil the gig.

But just like was the case before, he (Tryson) ended up succumbing. The two once had a similar challenge some months back. They had a misunderstanding on who should get what on gate takings and who should curtain raise for the other.

Initially Tryson had no qualms opening the stage for Peter but he eventually ended up demanding more arguing that he had a better following than the Young Igwe.

This was after controversial dancer Beverly Sibanda had also made similar claims.

Kkkkkkk, these battles of the bottom feeders can be really interesting.
