THREE celebrated musicians, Jacob Moyana, Somandla Ndebele and Sulumani Chimbetu who have carved a niche for themselves in the music industry through hard work and consistency are tonight (Friday) set to share a stage at a popular entertainment joint, Gwinyai Bar.
What makes tonight’s show a potentially explosive gig is that Chimbetu and the controversial wordsmith Moyana, will be presenting their new songs which will be released before end of year.
Orchestra Dendera Kings band manager, Joe “Local” Nyamungoma, in an interview, said heir to the dendera throne and Sean Timba hit-maker would be releasing his new album next month.
Moyana, who rose to fame overnight after releasing the chartbuster song Munotidako will also belt out new offerings such as potential hits Madhiri Takambomamira, Matinjiva Munodya here, Ndichageza Kumberi and Hatisi Kumira Kumamwa.
Gwinyai Bar proprietor and show promoter, Given Shumba, confirmed the shows.
“We are the first entertainment joint to host all these three artistes and share the same stage. This is an achievement to us. We call upon revellers to come in their numbers and have quality time with their favourite musicians. We are ready to host such a show of high magnitude,” Shumba said.
Jacob Moyana, who is backed by Black Hunters, has promised fireworks.
“We are coming to Mutare with new stuff. We are preparing well for the show. We are putting final touches to the forthcoming album which I am yet to christen. We are very grateful for the support that we are receiving from our fans across the country particularly in Manicaland where I grew up in. People are falling in love with my new songs and I am going to sample all six which will be carried on the album,” he said.
Sulu’s camp led by Nyamungoma said they were looking forward to staging a historic show.
“We will not disappoint. The group has something new for Mutare and we urge people to come in their numbers and witness the dendera bird soaring high once again,” he said.
Mukoma Ndakuvara, Njiva, Sean Timba, Kwedu are some of Sulu’s fine songs.
He is also expected to belt out his late father Simon Chimbetu’s songs such as Saina, One way and Dzandipedza Mafuta.
Veteran sungura composer Somandla “Mafia” Ndebele who boasts 21 albums with the latest one being Zvemberi Makasa is expected to be at his best.
