Swazia��s Sitsebe target Cosafa success in Byo

SWAZILAND Womena��s soccer team, Sitsebe, has set targets for Cosafa success during next montha��s edition in Bulawayo.

For the past three months, they have been in and out of camp with several preparatory international friendly matches including back-to-back matches against Lesotho.

Sitsebe SaMhlekazi have promised to outshine their male counterpartsa�� performance at the Cosafa cup by reaching the semi finals at least.

Last month, they returned home from two friendly matches with the Senior Lesotho Women National Team in Lesotho.

The first match was played on a Saturday, and the visitors lost 2-1. Both goals for the local side were scored by Cebile Shongwe.

On a Sunday morning, the second international friendly match was played and Lesotho lost by a similar scoreline 2-1. The goal scorer for Sitsebe SaMhlekazi was Mazwi Dube.

Head coach Mduduzi Nxumalo described the trip as a success because they were able to see all the players in a competitive international match.

a�?This was a successful trip as we were able to see all the players that made the trip as we are preparing for a national team that will represent the country very well in the upcoming Cosafa Women Competition to be held in Zimbabwe,a�? said Nxumalo.

There are 21 players in camp as part of preparations for the Senior Womena��s Cosafa Cup Competition to be held in Bulawayo as from the 13-24 September 2017.

a�?The team has been in camp for the past two months and everything is fine. The players are responding very well to the techniques and tactics in training,a�? he said.

The national team has been training three times a day at the Somhlolo National Stadium and the Technical Centre in Lobamba.

Sitsebe SaMhlekazia��s captain, Sibongile Ngwenya highlighted that they were looking forward to success.

a�?All is well in the camp as we are responding very well to the coachesa�� training sessions and the spirit among the players is very high.

a�?We are taking all of these international friendly matches seriously considering that we are preparing for the Cosafa Womena��s Competition where we want to represent the country very well,a�? she said.

Swaziland will be one of the 14 nations expected in Bulawayo.
