OUTGOING Switzerland Ambassador to Zimbabwe Niculin Jäger says he will recommend entrepreneurs from his country to make the most of the Swiss-Zimbabwe business chamber and take up opportunities in Zimbabwe.

Speaking yesterday after bidding farewell to Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Ambassador Frederick Shava at his offices in Harare, Ambassador Jäger said during his four years as Ambassador, he had helped bring Swiss-Zimbabwe relations to a new level.

Zimbabwe is on the cusp of industrialisation and development which could see an influx of international capital and Switzerland has put its best foot forward in terms of collaboration through last year’s launch of the Swiss-Zimbabwe business chamber which assists businesses from either country.

Swiss interest in Zimbabwe is further confirmation that giant global investors are taking notice of the lure of Zimbabwe as an investment destination.

“We used this occasion to look back to my four years in Zimbabwe, four very constructive years and together with the people of Zimbabwe, the authorities of Zimbabwe, the ministries of Zimbabwe, I can say we brought Swiss-Zimbabwe relations to a new level,” said Ambassador Jäger.

“Switzerland and Zimbabwe remain engaged on a very high level, it’s a very dynamic, friendly and trustworthy relationship.

“I would recommend to any Swiss business partner, Swiss investor, to get in touch with the newly established Swiss-Zimbabwe business chamber.

“This chamber unites a lot of Swiss businesses and is the best context for business people to have a conversation.”

Ambassador Jäger said collaboration with Zimbabwe can also be done through the Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency.
