adminLaw professor Harvey Rishikof filed suit on 22 December in Washington against the driver, Kamal Mortada, and the Swiss Confederation.
The suit claims Mortada lacked diplomatic immunity as he “negligently and recklessly drove the SUV that struck and killed” Rishikof’s wife, Trudith, on 6 October, one day before her 65th birthday.
The accident report says she had the right-of-way while walking across a busy road.
Mortada reportedly was one of two domestic servants beaten in 2008 by Hannibal Gaddafi and his wife, whose arrests in Geneva on assault charges strained Libyan-Swiss relations. — AP.
