ZIM Hip Hop artiste, Takura Shonhai, will share the stage with jazz outfit, Sax Lounge, at 7 Arts Theatre tonight.

Songbird Anita Jackson, IAMKiNG and Yahyah Good Vibes are also part of the bill.

The event will be hosted by Curtly Gwindi.

Speaking ahead of the event, Takura said he was raring to go.

“I have been waiting for so long for this opportunity and I am ready to take the Takura brand to another level.

“The live orchestra will add more flavour to the music, imagine adding live instruments like a guitar and a saxophone to the sound?”

Takura said he was ready to invest in a live band, although he sometimes performs with backtracks.

“It’s unfortunate that we can’t have a band all the time, but the band enriches the sound,” he added.

Anita Jackson, who was present at the Press briefing, said she was ready for the show.

“I am happy to be part of this experience as it will allow me to showcase my talent.

“Trust me, this will be quite a ride, this is going to be one of the best performances ever.

“As a female artist, it is sometimes very hard to flourish and grow in the music industry.

“But, Takura and the Sax Lounge have given me the opportunity to show the other side of Anita Jackson.”

Buoyant Osborne, from the Sax Lounge, promised fans a memorable night.

“This is going to be something Zimbabweans haven’t felt or seen before.

“We are promising a very unique musical fest,” said Osborne.

Asked why he chose to work with various acts from other genres, he said:

“They all bring different elements to the table.

“We are going to involve artists from all over the country.”
