TAKURA and Ti Gonzi have collaborated for the first time in a new song Ndiringe.

The song tackles the issue of death and the pain that those left behind have to deal with.

Through soulful rap lyrics, and captivating melodies, Takura and Ti Gonzi honour their memories and pray for their eternal peace.

In an interview with H-Metro, Ti Gonzi said collaboration in the music industry is a powerful tool that can elevate one’s work, expand one’s audience and enrich one’s creative process.

“When I was approached to do the song it was something that I thought Zimbabwe needed at the moment. Death is something that is not easy.

“The wound can never heal, we have lost loved ones.

“We had to do this for the people, Takura is a great musician. I respect him and I believe he is an international artist.

“The collaboration was long over due and the fans are always comparing us so it was time for us to come together and create something that brings unity to the people and, at the same time, tries to heal many broken hearts out there.

“The song pays tribute to friends and family who have passed away. We know that it is the way of life but those left behind carry the weight of memories,” he said.

In March, Ti Gonzi announced that, after the release of his album, he would sign off his career as the industry was not paying him enough.

The album was released in April.

However, it is believed the rapper still has some songs which will be released later.

“I had announced that I was hanging up the boots because the industry was not paying me enough but due to the love I have for my fans I will do anything to make them happy,” he said.
