AMBITIOUS ZIFA Southern Region Division One side Talen Vision have fired the first warning shot of the season, telling rivals they are not turning up to make up numbers, they want the big prize.
The Filabusi based club kicked off their pre-season programme recently with one message hanging over the first session, promotion or nothing, and chairman Elton Sinyosi says the target is clear, a ticket to the Premier Soccer League.
“We have started our formal season preparations,” said Sinyosi.
“We are a club based in Filabusi but at the moment we are training at Milton High School as our grounds are not yet ready for the new season.
“Our focus still remains the same as we are still seeking to find our rhythm as a team. We aim high and our sight is the Premiership.”
Talen Vision, who go by the nickname Akulula Madoda, are trying to break a familiar story that has haunted them for years; strong runs, late season heartbreak, and another year stuck in Division One when the finish line is in sight.

Last season, they played second fiddle to Bulawayo Chiefs, who stormed back into the top flight at the first time of asking after being relegated from the Premiership in 2024, leaving Vision watching another team celebrate the promotion they have chased for so long.
Sinyosi confirmed the club’s preparations are now in full swing under technical director Lizwe Sweswe, as they try to sharpen a squad that has too often fallen short when pressure rises.
The early work is being done away from home, with Vision using Milton High School while their Filabusi base is being readied, a temporary move that underlines how quickly the season is closing in.
The Southern Region Division One race is expected to be even tougher this year after the ushering in of new leadership, with Plumtree-based Mainline, rural side Nkayi United and Megawatt FC among the clubs tipped to come hard for promotion.
For Talen Vision, the mood at the first session was not about talk, it was about intent, and if they are serious about finally ending the near misses, they will have to do it the hard way, against a pack that already knows they are coming.
