TEAM Zimbabwe yesterday won points against Malawi in different disciplines in their search to defend their regional police Games title.

The men’s chess team beat Malawi and the volleyball men’s side beat Malawi 3-0.

The darts men’s team won 28-8, while their women counterparts won 12-4, against Malawi.

Tanzania lost points to Namibia for fielding players who were not members of their police force in their volleyball side.

Volleyball women team captain, Andile Ndlovu, said the win gave them confidence in fighting to retain the SARPCCO trophy.

“We played well and the win against Malawi gave us confidence in our search to keep our national flag high,” said Andile.

“We are looking forward to preparing well for our next opponents so as to collect all points,” she said.

Zimbabwe are trailing Tanzania in the gold medals tally.

Tanzania collected 12 gold medals while Zimbabwe has 10 and Namibia are third with five gold medals.

Eswatini has three gold medals.
