Dickson Bandera in MT DARWIN A TEACHER, who is facing charges of sexually abusing his Form 2 student, has been given bail just two days after he was arrested.
Perkins Mugaradziko, 30, appeared at the Mt Darwin Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
He is being accused of sexually abusing a 14-year-old Form 2 pupil.
The case will be heard on August 4.
The victim is a boarder at Rosinet High School in Rushinga, where Mugaradziko teaches.
Reports claim the school is owned by Mugaradziko’s father.
The allegations are that he lured the teenager from her dormitory at around 10am, sexually abused her and then returned her at around 3am.
A medical affidavit, which has been seen by H-Metro, confirms that penetration occurred.
Mugaradziko was arrested on Monday afternoon and was brought to court under police escort at around 10am on Wednesday.
The victim and her mother arrived just before 7am.
They never stepped into the court.
The traumatised girl and her mother spent the whole day outside the court.
They saw Mugaradziko emerge from the court without the handcuffs which he had when he arrived under police escort.
This time he was escorted by his relatives and they got into their vehicle and drove off.
Some of the relatives of the victim had travelled from Harare.
