Teacher cohabits with pupil

A TEACHER is being investigated over claims he detained a 16-year-old Form 3 pupil for 17 days during which they had sex. Education officials have been sent to Tambudzayi High School to begin investigations after concerns were raised about teacher, Crispen Mushoshoni.

Masvingo Deputy Education Director Andrew Chikwange said yesterday:

“We’ve received the report and investigations are underway as we speak. We can only give a proper comment after the findings.”

Sources at the school said sometime last week, divorced Mushoshomi — whose alleged affair with the teenager started last year — took his “girlfriend” for a weekend at his house.

The girl refused to go back home fearing her parents’ wrath for sleeping out and camped at Mushoshomi’s house for almost three weeks, it is claimed.

Mushoshomi finally took the girl to her aunt’s home, a few kilometres from the school, where he offered to pay $40 in “damages” for cohabiting with their daughter and made a pledge to marry her.

The girl has since dropped out of school.

Mushoshomi declined to comment.
