A MPOPOMA man who scared away his rivals with a teargas smoke canister got into trouble with the law.
Tawanda Mucheche (31) was locked up in cells for six nights before appearing before Western Commonage magistrate Stephen Ndlovu for being found in possession of a hand-held anti-riot CS canister.
The court heard that on 7 September, police received a tip-off that Mucheche was moving around with a teargas smoke canister.
The police proceeded to his favourite hangout place which is near Congo shop and found him relaxing with friends.
Upon being searched, Mucheche was found in possession of a hand-held anti-riot CS type canister serial number M8524A1 resulting in his arrest.
Mucheche begged for the courtas forgiveness citing that he just picked up the canister during violence outbreak at Barbourfields Stadium a month ago and decided to keep it for fun.
The man was left thanking his ancestors as the magistrate after considering that he was a first time offender, cautioned and discharged him.
The teargas canister was forfeited to the State.
