Teen brother jailed raping his 16-year-old sister

A seemingly trivial dispute over a lost memory card ignited a firestorm of violence, culminating in a 19-year-old brother’s brutal rape of his 16-year-old sister, a heinous act that earned him a punishing 15-year prison sentence.

A heated argument over a lost memory card on 26 January 2025, escalated into a vicious attack. The offender aggressively pursued and savagely beat his sister in a deserted kitchen.

Overwhelmed and unable to break free, the victim was tragically subdued and sexually assaulted by her brother.
In a statement on X, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) said, “After the assault he threatened to harm her if she disclosed the matter to anyone.”
