THE long arm of the law caught up with a Sakubva teenager who destroyed his friend’s property over a R7 debt.

Lovemore Nyanzou of House Number 131, Sakubva pleaded guilty to malicious damage to property charges when she appeared before Mrs Sekai Chiundura.

Mr Donald Mudadirwa appeared for the State.

The court heard that sometime in August this year Nyanzou went to Robert Kapesi’s place of residence in Sakubva to ask for R7 that Kapesi owed him.

Kapesi failed to pay up resulting in the accused person destroying property using a golf stick and stones.

Property destroyed included five windowpanes, a LCD television set and a laptop.

Asked why he committed the offence, Nyanzou was at loss of words. He pleaded for leniency saying he had wronged the complainant.

“Please forgive me, Your Worship,” he said.

Mrs Chiundura advised him to solve disputes amicably and not to resort to violence. He was remanded in custody awaiting sentence.
