Teenagers shoot gang-rape video

Mahlengwe, Masango and the three pleaded not guilty to rape charges when they appeared before Harare magistrate Ms Anita Tshuma on Tuesday and were remanded to October 22.
The minors were released into the custody of their parents.
The court heard that while in their friend’s house, the five locked the door and took off the girl’s school uniform before increasing the volume of the television set after she tried to scream for help.
They moved the girl to a bedroom where Mahlengwe raped her once.
After the act, they took her out to the sitting room where they forced her to watch a pornographic video. They took the girl back to the bedroom where they took turns to rape her.
Prosecutor Mr Tungamirai Chakurira said one of the assailants recorded a video of the rape using a cellphone. The girl narrated her ordeal to her cousin who advised her to report the rape to the police.
