After being kept on the sidelines for over two years because of the Covid-19 pandemic, United Kingdom-based gospel singer Pastor Matildah Tekeshe is back on the market with her new offering called ‘Jehovah Yahweh’.

Pastor Tekeshe believes her recently released eight-track album, which is her fifth, is a springboard, that will not only propel her career to new heights, but rekindle her relationship with her music followers and the gospel world at large.

“Due to Covid-19, I did not manage to have any physical contact with my fans because of restrictions on gatherings over the past two years. I am grateful that we managed to launch Jehovah Yahweh on June 26 this year,” she said from her UK base.

Although she expressed great pleasure in managing to work and complete ‘Jehovah Yahweh’ at the height of the Covid-19 era, Pastor Tekeshe bemoaned time lost and those who lost their lives to the pandemic.

“For the past two years, we have been limited so much in our plans and so many things have been delayed not also forgetting those who lost their lives,” she said.

“Jehovah Yahweh speaks about the greatness of God, the creator of Heaven and Earth, the God who hears and answers our prayers and the one who opens doors for us.

“Whenever he opens the doors, no one can shut them and when he shuts the doors no one can open. This is the great message that the album carries. It carries mainly praise and worship songs aimed at healing and uplifting people’s broken souls.”

The album carries songs like ‘Makagadzirira Here’, ‘Jehovah Yahweh (the title track), ‘Masuwo featuring Sabastian Magacha, ‘Makakodzera’, ‘Mutsvene’, ‘Munopindura minamato’, ‘Ndinewe’ featuring Obert Mazivisa and ‘You’re Holy’.

Pastor Tekeshe’s music journey started in 2012 when she released her debut album ‘Kugona kwaMwari’ followed by ‘Mukana Uripo’ in 2015 and ‘The Kingdom of God’ in 2018.
