Ngezi Platinum Stars extended their unbeaten run as they recorded their seventh draw of the season after being held at home by TelOne at Baobab yesterday.
And, coach Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva is not a happy man after a seventh stalemate.
“We need to start to convert these draws into wins.
“We need to capitalise on home advantage and start getting some wins.”
Malvin Gaki put the hosts into the lead two minutes before the half-hour mark when he came to the end of Farai Madhanhaga’s cross,
“We played well but I think the problem is that we are not taking the chances that are coming our way,” said Mutiwekuziva.
“We had a good first half but I think TelOne came back a more rejuvenated side.”
TelOne were the more aggressive side taking control of the match and forcing Ngezi on the backfoot.
They failed to convert the chances that came their way and were punished in the 28th minute when Gaki came to an end of Madhanhanga’s cross.
However, veteran forward Tawanda Macheke restored parity for the Wifi-Boys, five minutes after the break, with a contender for the Goal of the Season.
Macheke’s volley was true and powerful.
Saul Chaminuka, who was taking charge of his second game since his return to the top-flight league, felt that his team could have claimed all three points had they been clinical in front of goal.
“The boys showed some good fighting spirit and with a bit of luck I think we should have claimed maximum points,” said Chaminuka.
